Elizabeth Dark

Writer and Composer - Elizabeth Dark

BIOGRAPHY
With an extensive background in musical theatre, both as a choreographer and a performer, and also with ten years experience as a songwriter, it seems, in the general flow of things, a logical progression to actually creating an original full-scale musical. Elizabeth is a fully qualified Performing Arts Teacher, originally from Australia, and has been working in the UK for the past three years.

She has been working on the composition, lyrics and storyline of 'Angelis' since July 2010 and has now completed the first draft of the musical, which is one hour and a quarter in length. After the premiere of the 'draft' in January 2012 at the Dragon Hall, Norwich, she hopes to spend a year polishing and developing the show to a two and a half hour length.

Much support and very helpful advice on music, and the musical theatre industry, in England has come from Julian Marshall, Director of the London Song Company.

The premiere of the show in January 2012 was a sold-out success at the Dragon Hall in Norwich and the many reviews, which you can view or listen to on this website, were fantastic.

Having performed for the Holt Festival and the Wells 2012 Carnival with similar success, the show has only two more performances before we say goodbye to the concert-version and hello to the finished full-length show.

We were approached by EACH to put on a fundraising concert on the 7th October at the Walter Roy Theatre. The Walter Roy and the Hewett School are donating the use of the venue for free, so many thanks to them. We will update the website with news when the concert is over.

'Angelis' , the concert-version, is being performed for the last time at Epic TV Studios in Norwich October 21st , 7.30pm(Sunday) and is being streamed live to the internet so that we can reach an international audience. The link for Epic will be sent out two weeks before the show.

The next step in the development of 'Angelis' is to push for an Arts Grant and to find an amateur company willing to mount the show as a full-scale proscenium performance. Please contact Liz if you have any interest in 'Angelis' and it's future.
